Types and applications of PVC hoses

Polyurethane (PU) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) are the two most popular materials used in Stainless steel corrugated hose. Both are made of thermoplastic type, but there are some key differences between them. For this reason, PVC is more suitable for some applications, while polyurethane is also better than PVC in other applications.

PVC is also very suitable for food, irrigation, dairy products and medical applications. However, due to its strong resistance to weathering and most chemical substances, it can be used for more purposes.

PVC hoses are available in heavy, medium or light types and can be reinforced. Therefore, PVC hose is required for any application. However, PVC hose does have its weaknesses. It is not compatible with some oils, chemicals and liquids, and will break down over time. Fortunately, TPC also has some special oil-resistant PVC hoses with special lining to prevent this situation.

Polyurethane hose (PU)

Polyurethane hose fills the problem that PVC is difficult to solve and has strong resistance to most petroleum-based fluids and chemicals. This is why PU hoses are often used in fuel lines. The lower temperature is not a problem for polyurethane hoses.

In addition, high-pressure applications are another area where polyurethane hoses really shine, because they perform well in these applications. However, polyurethane is not as tasteless as PVC, so it is not suitable for agriculture or food industry.

PVC hoses are divided into many types, such as flat hose, steel braided hose, rubber lined fire hose and suction hose. At home, you will find PVC hoses in the backyard, under the bathroom shower and kitchen sink.

Go to your vehicle and you will find that PVC hose plays an indispensable role in the operation of your engine. The PVC hose uses the pressure vent in the crankcase, so that the oil will not blow out the seal.

Farmers use steel suction and spiral suction PVC hoses to irrigate farmland and spray crops with pesticides and supplements. They also use it as a transfer device for transporting grain, flour, and even gas and fuel. For industrial applications, hydraulic PVC hoses are used on machinery in manufacturing plants.

In the oil and natural gas industry, reinforced hose makes PVC hose corrosion resistant and anti-static. This makes it a suitable choice for moving high-pressure and explosive liquids and gases. The same strengthening also makes it useful to transfer sludge through suction hose in the construction, chemical and automotive industries.

PVC braided reinforced hose is most commonly used in agriculture, fishery, engineering and household goods. It can transport fluids and gases, such as water, lye, oil, acid, oxygen and gas. As you can see, PVC hoses are widely used worldwide. In fact, it is one of the most widely used hoses in the PVC industry, accounting for more than 82% of hose sales. This is because PVC is very cost-effective. In addition, it is very suitable for applications exposed to extreme temperatures, ultraviolet radiation or chemicals. It is also a light hose, which has been used in many different industries, so it is a best-selling product.
